Sometimes the simplest innovations can transform people’s lives.

Like putting a stretcher on the back of a bike thereby creating an affordable “Bicycle Ambulance” to wheel patients through the poorest regions in the world.

This ingenious and practical life saver is the brainchild of Dr Joyce Conolly and Associate Professor Bruce Conolly who have spent well over a decade treating patients throughout Myanmar – often in villages where people have never seen a doctor in their lives.

They founded the Mynamar Australia Conolly Foundation for Health to not only treat locals but also to train local surgeons, all the while wheeling the sick through mountains in their remarkable bicycle ambulance.
